Why this exists

Darius spent twenty years building healthcare technology and care operations software in the United States. At Brave Care, a paediatric urgent care platform, he built the technology infrastructure that delivered care to tens of thousands of children during COVID. He co-founded two nonprofits, Hands.org and Nalukai.org, and served on the Make-A-Wish Hawaii board. He has been a Y Combinator founder three times.

Compliance and governance

Where Calling Round sits in your governance framework.

Calling Round is phone-based social contact infrastructure. We sit in the same governance category as a technology supplier you use to deliver and document a provider service, not as a medical provider or regulated health software.

Care governance obligations, including care planning, client assessment, urgent escalations, and mandatory reporting, remain entirely with your organisation, as they do with any provider service you manage. Calling Round produces the documentation that supports your obligations. It does not discharge them on your behalf.

Data sovereignty

All client data is stored in Sydney-region infrastructure. Client data is never used to train third-party AI models. Conversation transcripts are retained for 90 days and then summarised. Call recordings are retained for 7 days for quality assurance, then deleted.

Regulatory posture

Calling Round is positioned as provider workflow infrastructure, not a medical device. We maintain a documented position on this classification that is available to your compliance team on request.

Privacy

Compliant with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. A Data Processing Agreement is available for signature as part of provider onboarding. Client consent is captured by the provider as part of its standard onboarding process.

Documentation standard

All call summaries are timestamped, structured, and exportable. Records are designed for provider review under the Aged Care Act 2024 and are queryable by client and date range.

What Calling Round is

Calling Round is B2B phone infrastructure for Australian aged care providers. We deliver or process social contact at provider scale, produce structured records for every call, and give care managers a clear summary they could not otherwise have.

Residential providers use it as direct-pay resident engagement infrastructure. Home Care providers use it for Support at Home service delivery. In both cases, providers manage the client relationship and Calling Round sits behind the scenes.

What Calling Round is not

Calling Round is not a medical provider and does not provide medical care. We do not make diagnostic decisions. We do not replace human support workers for clients with higher care needs. We are not a medical service, an emergency response service, or a dementia assessment tool. We are not an American product adapted for Australia.

We are a phone-based social contact infrastructure layer. The boundary is clear, deliberate, and documented.
