Why Calling Round exists
Built because my own parents are getting older, and I'm not calling enough.

darius@callinground.com.auI have three young kids and I am running several companies at once. My parents are in their seventies, healthy for now, and living a flight away. I don't call them as often as I should, and I know it. Every adult child I speak to about this understands the feeling immediately: the slight guilt every Sunday night when you realise you didn't ring Mum this week either.
It's not that we don't love our parents. It's that life is relentless. The kids have a school event. There's a deadline on Friday. Mum called last weekend and we chatted for forty minutes about the garden and the neighbours, and now it's Tuesday and my day is already a blur.
The research on elderly loneliness is clear and grim. Daily contact is protective. Weekly contact is not. And the aged care system, reformed as it is in 2025, still cannot deliver daily human contact at the scale or cadence that would actually help. The workforce does not exist. The reimbursement rates do not support it. Families cannot fill the gap on their own.
Calling Round is the service I wanted for my own parents. Not a replacement for me ringing them. Nothing replaces that. A companion that calls every morning, pays attention, remembers the names of the grandkids, notices when something seems off, and gives the family and the care team visibility into how Mum is actually doing.
What Calling Round is
Calling Round is B2B voice AI infrastructure for Australian Support at Home providers. We give providers the ability to deliver daily social support to their clients: a warm, unhurried, genuinely engaging phone call from an AI companion named Ray (or Rose), with clinical-grade documentation flowing back to the provider's care management team.
Our partner providers deliver the service under their own brand, bill SAH for the Social Support funding, and manage the clinical and care relationships with their clients. Calling Round sits behind the scenes, making the daily cadence economically and operationally possible.
What Calling Round is not
Calling Round is not a medical provider and does not provide clinical care. We do not make diagnostic decisions. We do not replace human support workers for clients with higher care needs. We are not a monitoring system, an alarm service, or a dementia assessment tool.
We are a social support infrastructure layer, and we are clear about the boundary.
